BERLINER MORGENPOST, 13/01/2008 --- Inbal succeeded in shaping this over one hour long feat in such a way that the listener lost their sense for space and time.

BERLINER MORGENPOST, 25.3.2006 --- Gustav Mahler's 9th Symphony will always remain an adventure for the mind and soul, surrounded by speculations of its worshipers and admirers. For the conductors among them, the baton occasionally becomes a pilgrim's staff. Eliahu unquestionably counts as one of the latter, recently performing the monumental final work of Mahler with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra at the Konzerthaus. His interpretations and the constantly rising intensity of his musical depiction rendered the audience, at the whispering end, this last wave of the master's hand, speechless. (...) A great composer had found a worthy interpreter.

INDEPENDENT, 3/9/2002 --- Inbal opted for maximum heat, frequently signalling for more vibrato and pushing the tempo so that this lovingly protracted hymn to peace spiralled ecstatically from climax to climax. It was a moving finale to a memorable reading.

STAR TRIBUNE, 17/3/2000 --- What Inbal does - and what made the performance he led Wednesday night so compelling - is pay attention to the instructions Mahler gives in the score, things many conductors ignore: the little glissandos and portamentos in the strings, numerous subtleties in dynamics, and getting the cellos to really sing out at the start of the third movement. It also means allowing something to take the time that it needs, rather than rushing it. (...) This was a fine, thoughtful performance. Audiences here haven't heard this kind of detailed, carefully etched Mahler since the memorable nights when the late Klaus Tennstedt brought lightning flashes of insight and excitement to the podium at Orchestra Hall.

STAR TRIBUNE, 17/4/1997 --- (...) The formidable Israeli conductor Eliahu Inbal, who is making his first appearance with the Minnesota Orchestra this week, has the key, and opened all the right doors to this work Wednesday night at Orchestra Hall. From the softest passages to the biggest climaxes, Inbal managed to create an elegant, smoothly blended continuity of timbres in which every section, every entrance, felt like a part of the overall sonic fabric.
