+++ Focus on Hans Werner Henze at the Semperoper Dresden +++

With productions of three music theatre pieces and a ballet as well as in four concert programs, the Semperoper features the music of Hans Werner Henze in its current season. Hans Werner Henze is also composer-in-residence ('Capell-Compositeur') of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.

The homage to the composer started on 13 September with his opera Wir erreichen den Fluss/We come to the River, followed by premieres of his latest opera Gisela! oder: Die merk- und denkwürdigen Wege des Glücks on 19 September and the recital for four musicians El Cimarrón on 29 September. Performances of the ballet Das Vokaltuch der Kammersängerin Rosa Silber started on 27 October.

On 14, 15 and 16 October, Christian Thielemann conducted the Staatskapelle Dresden with the orchestra piece Sebastian im Traum.
