We are delighted to annonce the management of Le Cercle de l'Harmonie.
CONCERTCLASSIC.COM, 2006 --- A true miracle happened...From the first note of the Overture to the Finale, the orchestra was bursting with passion and unheard of colour.
In his last years, the French violin virtuoso, Chevalier de Saint-George (1739-1799), founded an orchestra named Le Cercle de l’Harmonie. Reviving this name, the young musicians involved in this orchestra wish to recover – besides the works of Bach, Händel and Rameau – the complete repertoire of Gluck, Haydn and Mozart’s era on period instruments. This period matches in France the end of the Ancien Régime and the Revolution, when François-Joseph Gossec, André Ernest Modeste Grétry, Giuseppe Maria Cambini, Jadin, Chevalier de Saint-George and Étienne-Nicolas Méhul ruled the French musical world with great symphonic and lyrical works.
