+++ 'Ring Saga' on ARTE Live Web +++

During the past months, Peter Rundel and his Porto-based Remix Ensemble toured Portugal, France and Luxembourg with an extraordinary project. A live film recording of the Ring Saga, a nine-hour arrangement of Richard Wagner‘s Ring des Nibelungen, is now available on the website of the German-French TV channel ARTE. liveweb.arte.tv

The arrangement was created by composer Jonathan Dove and director Graham Vick for eighteen instruments and fifteen singers.

The production, directed by Antoine Gindt, brought Remix Ensemble together with first-class singers who have never before been heard singing Wagner repertoire, including the young coloratura soprano Jihye Son in the roles of Sieglinde and Wellgunde. The tour took place between September and December 2011 with stops in Portugal, France and Luxembourg, earning much acclaim from audiences and critics.
