+++ Tora Augestad in a new Marthaler production at the Theater Basel +++
The successful cooperation between Tora Augestad and Christoph Marthaler began with the world premiere of Beat Furrer’s opera Wüstenbuch in 2009 and was followed by the celebrated production of Meine faire Dame, a unique tribute to Loewe’s musical My Fair Lady.
Starting with the premiere on 25 November, Tora Augestad returned to the stage of the Theater Basel for Christoph Marthaler’s new production Lo stimolatore cardiaco which revolves around the theme of Italian Opera with a special focus on Giuseppe Verdi and the life-prolonging usage of a pacemaker. Again, the versatility of Norwegian singer Tora Augestad inspires new ideas. The piece will be shown in 14 further performances until April 2012.
In January, the Theater Basel again showed Meine faire Dame before sending the production on a journey to Valence. It will also be presented at the Edinburgh International Festival 2012.
