Formed in Budapest in 1984, the Hungarian Amadinda Percussion Group is regarded as one of the most original and versatile percussion groups in the world today.
Besides fostering and performing both Hungarian and international contemporary music, over the years Amadinda's activities have expanded to researching traditional percussion cultures, composing new music and transcribing significant works from the history of music to percussion instruments. As a result, traditional music from four continents, as well as transcriptions of classical and jazz pieces were all added to Amadinda's repertoire.
In 2014, Amadinda Percussion Group will be celebrating its 30th anniversary.
