Xenia Xien-Yue Groh-Hu was born in Zurich and grew up in Taipei and Vienna. She studied Musicology (in combination with Theatre, Sinology and Business Administration) at the University of Vienna, Piano at the Conservatory of Music in Vienna and attended several cultural management courses.
During her studies, she conducted musicological research in Taiwan with emphasis on traditional Taiwanese and Chinese music. She gave lectures and workshops on traditional and contemporary Chinese music in Austria, Germany, China and Taiwan and has worked as a translator for cultural institutions and projects since 1992.
As a pianist, Xenia has been teaching piano since 1995, e.g. at the music-school Purkersdorf in Austria, and conceiving educational music projects for children, amongst others for Kulturkontakt Austria and Theater Akzent Vienna.
In 1999 Xenia co-founded the Viennese organization AsianCultureLink , aiming to foster cultural exchanges between Asia and Europe. She has been involved in various cultural activities, among others the production and co-ordination of AsianCultureLink projects, organizational work and management for the music ensembles Triology, Son Dos and the Ensemble On Line Vienna, and working as an assistant director for the Wiener Taschenoper.
Xenia joined Karsten Witt Musik Management in Berlin in April 2004.
